Greetings to all those following the Mississippi State Wind Ensemble as they tour Ireland and England! You will be able to check in here daily for updates on what the band members and staff are doing.
For those of you who don't know me, I am Brian Hawkins, a 1994 graduate of MSU and Maroon Band alumnus. I still volunteer regularly with the MSU band, especially during football season. I am thrilled to be joining the band staff and the students on this tour. I, like the kids, have been looking forward to it for months now.
We have a long day of travel ahead on Monday and Tuesday morning — LOTS of time on a bus and on airplanes. Please keep all of us in your prayers as we travel so that we arrive safely and with no mishaps.
After we arrive in Ireland, I'll post an update on our travel and our initial experiences on the Emerald Isle.
